Watch the Special Screenings of "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" at U.P.

Cinemalaya Jury Prize winner "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" will have three special screenings at 2PM, 5PM, and 7PM on Saturday, August 20, at the U.P. Film Institute Cine Adarna (formerly U.P. Film Center), University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City.

The screenings are being held to raise funds for the participation of the film in the coming Montreal World Film Festival where it will compete against entries from 14 other countries.

"Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" screened to full houses at the CCP and U.P. as one of the nine full-length entries in the 1st Cinemalaya film festival and competition.

In its limited run so far it has garnered rapturous responses from audiences and critics alike.

Aside from winning the Cinemalaya Jury Prize, the film was awardeed for Best Production Design (by Christina Dy, Clint Catalan, and Lily Esquillon) and a special citation awarded to first-time actor Nathan Lopez for his breakthrough performance as Maximo Oliveros, a pre-teen boy who falls in love with a policeman.

"Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros" is written and produced by Michiko Yamamoto ("Magnifico") and Raymond Lee ("Milan") of ufo Pictures and directed by award-winning filmmaker Auraeus Solito.

The U.P. screenings will be subtitled in English so foreign / non-Filipino speaking audiences are welcome.

grabeeeeeee! ang gandah! parang international film. I love it lalo na si maxi. Kung totoo siya gusto ko siyang maging friend! sympre gusto ko rin si nathan. ang galing niyang umarte...gusto ko nga ron ung sc-hemer..astig. Pero gusto ko rin ung talent portion..ung umarte na namatay ang kanayang ina..sobrang bumenta sa akin nun! i love kuya bogs so mabait and also his father. Congratulations, this is digital film at its best and we sure do pray that big boys from Star Cinema and such would continue their support to alternative film genres.

it was a great film! its worth your time and money!!! does it have a dvd or a vcd that we could rent in video rentals para mas- mapublicize.. minsan na nga lang nagkakaroon ng matitinong film...i hope they would have it out in the market....

but more than anything else...astig ang casting ang cute ni BOGS!!!! hehehe...i think JR VALENTIN is so handsome.....

otherwise, the film won't be as successful as this

pambato talaga!!! go! go! go! exceptional film! oh.. and si bogs! hehe! girl version ni japs (sister of ping)... all of the characters were effective in bringing out the essence of the story!
