Entry: writer's curse Thursday, August 11, 2005

one more stick figure on your wall
the sky is dark, and the rain shall fall
one more soul to catch
one more soul to catch
why don't you stick around and watch?

you cared not if your lips bless her, head to feet
nor for your tongues to dance in a gentle beat
you've written her down
you've written her down
hugs and kisses, and smiles and frowns

the ghost of a lover at your beck and call
with the touch of your hand, flat upon the wall
she is read to life
she is read to life
ah, yet the girl is not your wife!

but she will be with you every night
head on your pillow, and your make believe fights
smell her hair
smell her hair
then turn to find the girl is not there

and in a small, lamp-lit room, far away
she will wake sobbing from a dream, and say,
"she could have been mine,
she could have been mine,
but she never believed in herself and i."

you turned your head, and bowed, and sighed
and walked away without ever saying why
she could've been yours
she could've been yours
but you just chose to close the door.

one more stick figure on your wall
the sky is dark, will you let the rain fall?
one more soul to catch
one more soul to catch
why don't you stick around and watch?

i know, dear. i know. after all, i wrote the poem (in the wee hours of last night). :)

giving up on so much catches up on you. it's painful. and it's not just on a my-heart-is-broken kinda way. it really erodes and destroys who you are.

thanks for the little chat last time. miss your flowery head band. :)
